Presenters will explore the issues with particular focus on demographic challenges, such as age dependency ratios and implications for sovereign debt and public policy. To this end, we will be describing genetic engineering and the part if may play in changes in longevity. We will also be discussing the effect of such changes on current mortality trends and will comment on how actuaries can anticipate and respond to such changes.
